This 26th edition of the One TV Year in the World report is also the first one under the name Glance, which stands for Global Audience and Content Evolution. Revealed in October 2019, this new name aims at better representing our current activity.
A lot has changed since EurodataTV was created in the early nineties to deliver European TV ratings to some major clients, mostly in the U.S. or in Western Europe. Our client base has grown, our geographical coverage has expanded (as the size of this report can demonstrate), the types of data that we source have multiplied. So, to reflect these changes, we decided that the time had come for us to change our name. Because, more than Euro, we are now Global. More than just selling Data, we also work on the how and the why. We analyse Evolutions and provide ad-hoc consulting. And more than just TV, we scrutinise Audience results and Content trends. And today more than ever, Glance is here to be your research and business partner, to support you in your requests, from the simplest daily queries to the more complex questions.
And the questions of the industry are indeed becoming increasingly complex. We see that traditional TV consumption is challenged, hence the need to understand better the news ways programmes are viewed. We also monitor an increasing number of contents and platforms, whether they are global, regional, or local platforms, which multiply potential strategies and opportunities. The format industry is also becoming more and more global, with new formats travelling the world at a quicker pace than ever before.
And in this global playground full of opportunities, where better to start than with this new 2020 edition of the One TV Year in the World report and its online com.
