The green energy and green smart building industry field in Taiwan including PV, LED lighting, wind power, EV, green buildings, Hydrogen energy, and fuel cell…etc. The output value of PV industry in 2010 in Taiwan has reached 200 billion NTD, the output of LED lighting has reached 162.6 billion NTD. In addition, industrial circles are also actively participated in fields of wind power, EV, energy information and communication (smart grid), smart green building, Hydrogen energy and fuel cell. Facing the worldwide competitive investment of green energy and smart green building fields, domestic industries dealing with international competition, how to be a key role in international Industry chain, remain the growth, have become the important issues of green energy and smart green building field development in Taiwan.
The main aims of the project are collecting and analyzing the present status of Industrial developments and strategic directions of Green Energy and Green Building Industries between the main countries in the world, and also analyzing the advantages/disadvantages and competitive niche, opportunities for future development and investment, investment strategies and policy recommendations of green energy and green building Industry in Taiwan, as the important references for government industrial policies. The Green Energy and Green Building Industries which involved in this paper are classified to seven categories based on the industrial investments in Taiwan: PV, LED Lighting, wind power, energy information and communication, smart green building, Hydrogen and fuel cell, and Biofuels. The project is aimed at “The Global Present Industry Development Status and Trends”and “The Analysis of Present Green Energy Industry Development Status in Taiwan”, to clarified the competitive advantages and marketing niche of green energy and green building industries in Taiwan, then propose “Investment Strategies and Policy Recommendations”.
