Brief Description: This book is a collection of reports from ten Asian nations (Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) providing a comparison of the laws and public policy regulating and influencing the nonprofit sectors in those countries. The goal in making this material available is to assist governments, nonprofits, foundations, and international organizations like the World Bank understand the ways in which nonprofits are regulated and structured throughout the region - allowing for better intergovernmental cooperation and legal synergism. The ultimate goal of the project is to strengthen the nonprofit sector in this important region of the world.
